Patient:  Male, age 57, Illinois physician (anesthesiologist)

Pathology:  Cancer (squamous cell carcinoma) of the right
                     eye and orbit, and maxillary sinus

Intervention:  Exenteration, hemi-maxillectomy,
                         palatectomy, frontal bone (calvarial) excision

Prosthesis:  Self-retained, removable, hollow-core
                      prosthesis provides obturation (oro-pharynx)
                      normal sinus drainage, vocal resonance and
                      speech articulation, humidity and breathing
                      airway.


Patient:  Female, age 56, Florida sales executive

Pathology:  Cancer (basal cell carcinoma) of the left eye  
                     and orbit, maxillary sinus and palate

Intervention:  Exeneration, palatectomy and hemi-
                         maxillectomy

Prosthesis:  Self-retained, removable, hollow-core
                      prosthesis provides normal sinus drainage,
                      vocal resonance, humidity and breathing
                      airway.
 


Patient:  Male, age 48, Self-employed Texan

Pathology:  Cancer (basal cell carcinoma) of the orbit,
                     maxillary sinus and nose.

Intervention:  Exenteration, hemi-maxillectomy, hemi-
                         rhinectomy and palatectomy

Prosthesis:  Self-retained, removable, hollow-core
                      prosthesis provides obturation (oro-pharynx),
                      normal sinus drainage, vocal resonance and
                      speech articulation, humidity and breathing
                      airway.


Patient:  Male, age 70, Retired Oregon attorney

Pathology:  Cancer (basal cell carcinoma) maxillary sinus and
                     orbit

Intervention:  Exenteration, maxillectomy, palatectomy

Prosthesis:  Self-retained, removable prosthesis
                      encompassing left maxilla, eye, orbit and oral
                      cavity.  Airway incorporated for normal vocal
                      resonance, breathing function, sinus drainage
                      and humidity retention.
 


Patient:  Male, age 63, Retired Ohio salesman

Pathology:  Cancer (squamous cell carcinoma) of the nose

Intervention:  Rhinectomy

Prosthesis:  Completely self-retained, removable (for daily
                      cleaning) and totally functional prosthesis
                      permits normal breathing and vocal resonance.

 

 


Patient:  Female, age 24, Illinois homemaker

Pathology:  Cancer (retinoblastoma)  of the right eye and
                     orbit

Intervention:  Exenteration

Prosthesis:  Self-retained prosthesis which incorporates air
                      passage system to assure proper vocal
                      resonance.
